What is the most important thing I should know about Lioresal?

• Lioresal may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Use caution if you are driving, operating machinery or performing any hazardous activity. If you experience these symptoms, avoid these types of activities.
• Avoid alcohol consumption. Alcohol may increase dizziness or drowsiness while taking Lioresal.
• Do not suddenly discontinue treatment with Lioresal, as this may cause seizures or hallucinations. Your doctor will likely gradually reduce your dose.

What is Lioresal?

• Lioresal is a muscle relaxant and antispasmodic agent. Its exact mechanism of action is unknown.
• Lioresal is used to relieve muscle spasms, pain, and muscle stiffness associated with multiple sclerosis.
• Lioresal may also be used for other purposes mentioned in the medical guide.

What should I discuss with my doctor before taking Lioresal?

• Tell your doctor if you have had any of the following conditions:
  • Kidney disease
  • Epilepsy or other seizure disorders

Seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of a Lioresal overdose may include vomiting, severe drowsiness, slow or shallow breathing, loss of consciousness, or seizures.
